Forum rules

PLEASE NOTE! Postings in this section are deleted automatically after they have not been looked at for 30 days.

1) This section is for advertising items that you have for sale.

2) If you have items for sale on ebay, please post them in the appropriate section. This section is NOT for the advertisement of your ebay auctions.

3) If you have a number of items to sell, post them in a single ad marked "Multiple Parts" or similar. DO NOT post many individual advertisements as this forces everyone else's listings down the page.

4) It is expected that any items advertised on the forum are described fairly & honestly. It is the duty of the seller to ensure that this is the case.

5) Items listed for sale should wherever possible be offered with a purchase price, not asking for bids from members. If you wish to auction your item to the highest bidder I would suggest you use ebay & pay the associated fees.

6) If I consider any postings in this section to violate either the spirit or word of these simple requests I reserve the right to delete any posts without prior warning or explanation.

7) This section is offered as a free service to enthusiasts. Any deals made are between the buyer & seller only. The MK1 forum takes no part in any transaction & the appearance of any item in this section is not a recommendation. I strongly suggest that both buyers & sellers are happy to proceed with a deal before any money or goods change hands.

8) The advertising of or soliciting for VIN tags, log books or any other vehicle identification documentation without it's associated vehicle is expressly forbidden.

9) The posting of items for sale on the MK1 forum constitutes explicit acceptance of these simple rules.

(10) It is STRONGLY recommended that when paying with Paypal people DO NOT use the "Pay friends" service. This has no buyer protection & if there is an issue you will NOT be able to reclaim your lost money.

NOW SOLD

Probably the most well known of all the "Modern" Mini Sprints.

My car was Sprinted by Neville back in 2008 & was the 7th Minisprint & the 1st 60's style one c/w roof gutter left intact & with a cut front screen. Over the last 10 years it has been developed & improved & has attended many prestigious meetings including the Mini 50 Parade at the Goodwood Revival in 2009, been a cover car in Minimagazine, attended many shows & historic race meetings, it has also been featured on BBC TV.

It is without a doubt one of the very best developed Minisprints anywhere.

Based on (but NOT registered as) a 1071 Cooper S it has all Cooper S running gear, trim & engine to the following specificaton.

Exterior:
Fully restored 1963 shell that has been Sprinted by Neville Trickett to 1960's GT specification, leaving all roof gutters intact, but removing all seams. Opening rear quarter windows with chrome plated surrounds, just like a "proper" mini. Cooper Car Co type Rosepetal Wheels, Morris Cooper badge to the front, Morris script MINI-SPRINT badge to the back. Finished in Smoke Grey under OEW.

Interior:
Two tone Grey "Cooper S" interior, veltone carpets, Microcell recliner front seats finished in 2 tone grey. 120mph Cooper S Speedo, 52mm "Alexander style" rev counter & 52mm Dual OP / Water Temp gauge, Alexander gear knob. Original 1960's leather bound Springall steering wheel. Kangol alloy buckled seatbelts.

Underneath:
Original Dry suspension with Hi-Los, set up correctly to give 3° Caster, actual 1.5° negative camber & 1/16" toe out, car was also corner weighted. Cooper S Disks & adjustable shock absorbers.

Engine / Gearbox:
1071cc Cooper S Block, crank & rods, Beautifully modified 163 cylinder head, 190 gearbox containing original Cooper S optional c/r gear set. Swiftune SW5 cam, Manifolw LCB, RC40. Alexander twin HS2's on original (and rare) Alexander twin HS2 manifold (not a crappy modified Stromberg manifold), Alexander alloy Rocker cover. Lucas screen jet electric screen wash. Running on Castrol R40.

On the down side:
There is a very small dent on the passenger side front wing, this was done when I originally built the car & I have never got round to getting it dent devil'd. It would certainly come out 100% clean though. After 10 years of use, there is a TINY amount of paint bubbling around the top passenger side corner of the rear screen, and a tiny bit of similar damage to the roof gutter in the same corner, the rest of the body is in excellent condition with only very minor dings & marks commensurate with 10 years of regular use. With a minor amount of fettling it would look 100% again. The car was THOROUGHLY Dinitrolled after it was painted & there is no rust apart from that listed above.

After a very great deal of thought I have decided to sell my beloved Sprint as I have far to many cars & not enough time to appreciate them all. It is priced to sell as now I have made the decision I want it to sell quickly. The "MF" number plate is not included in the sale, but if you really wanted to keep it, I am sure that a deal could be done.

In short, this is a superb original Trickett Minisprint, finished to a high standard, with an illustrious history, in great condition, at a GREAT price. I would like to sell quickly & welcome viewings in person at a time to suit you.

I've been lucky enough to drive this car to a few events for Mark and it is bliss to drive, a perfect road/track car, very well setup. If I had the funds it would be in my garage.
