This year's Kilbroney Car Show in Rostrevor County Down on Saturday past turned into to a mud hole. A friend also told me he went to the British Leyland Autumn Rally on Sunday 29 and it was also a wash out and ruined the day. It is hard to beat an event where all parking is hard standing.

Shame as so many people put so much work into running these great events. :(

Alan

I avoid the whole thing by not going to classic car shows. Well, I do the NEC in November, Mark's Blyton do and very little else.

I did not go to the IMM/Mini 60 but felt sorry for those that did with the very wet/windy weather that weekend, especially those overseas Mini enthusiasts who had gone to the trouble and expense to ship in their Minis especially for the event from far away countries like New Zealand!

Luckily every event I’ve done this year has been sunny and dry! Goodwood in April (the test day two weeks before was even sunnier) , Blyton, Donington, , Chimpney, Tatton Park, Oulton Park Gold Cup and Goodwood again. Bulee was dry but yes a few Mini specific events have been clobbered by the recent wet spell.

I was at the rerun of Kilbroney on Saturday Alan and considering the weather forecast it was a pretty decent day between the showers. I was surprised by the turn out as well. Much higher than expected. All in all it was a very good show - I even managed to find a nice wee Abingdon stamped adjustable spanner for the collection.

Ian, are you going to the Ballyward show this Saturday? Our gang are going to the Spa Presbyterian Church Ballynahinch Harvest Vintage day. I’m helping George Jennings with the Mini display. It is all hard standing and you are welcome to join our display if you wish.

Glad you enjoyed Kilbroney :D

Alan

Hi Alan
Thanks for the invite but I'll not be out this Saturday. Hope you have a good turnout despite the forecast.
