Two cylinder prototype engine
Not sure if this has been shared here before but I found this fascinating. There’s a couple of videos so far in the series to watch in which the prototype two cylinder engine gets built up and prepped to run in an A30.

I watched that last night. Apparently the guy is a bit of a genius & is well known in VSCC circles.

Ivan said in the video said that he bought it from a "nice young chap" which confused me but then I suppose such things are relative

The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who do not possess it.

Re: Two cylinder prototype engine
After watching the first video I started to wonder if this engine was originally designed as a Marine engine.

Re: Two cylinder prototype engine
It is common practice for car companies to make a single cylinder version of a new engine design, to study performance / gas-flow / combustion etc.
-Being cheaper, easier to handle etc...
Of course, the A series having siamesed ports would mean you need to make a twin..
So I think it is probably an old test/development engine.
-A marine engine is possible, or maybe a study for the A series-engined tractor BMC made...?
