Dealership window decals

Post by 360gts »

Anyone seen ...or know where I might find a window dealership decal for Carmart?? One of my S's was sold by Car Mart North...thought it would be a nice touch to have a decal of the dealership.
Been scouring the web...haven't come up with anything.

These do dealer stickers and custom work. I’ve never used them so have no idea of the quality of their work.

I’ve used ‘I say ding dong’ a few times and they are excellent to deal with
They’ll do you a one-off, or whatever you need.

Windows decals really weren't much used in the 1960's, much more likely to be something like the below examples:
St Christopher themed badges and keyfobs were popular. These Car Mart circular badges came in a variety of colours - probably to match the car or interior

You might be able to get a window sticker made in this style

There was a guy offering NOS Car Mart St Christopher's on ebay very recently. These were also amazingly a very reasonable price.

He still is.

Great tips....think I will pick up one of the dash plaques...as Mark said...very reasonably priced.
Simon, I like the plaque on the door pocket...might be able to get that one reproduced...the coat of arms is a bit obscured ...
Think I found a good example of the Royal warrant that is granted to approved companies.

Anyone tell me what is written on the Car Mart plate under the Royal Warrant??? Looks like the Warrant was appointed by the Duke of Edinburgh....or maybe he was Prince at the time....Pardon me if I am getting his titles wrong.

I searched Royal Warrants....on Wikipedia...no mention of Car Mart!!

Still trying to make out what the words are under the royal warrant. So far, I have come up with this.

By Appointment to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
Motor Car Distributors
THE CAR MART Ltd.

Anyone have any ideas as to the wording of the middle line??? Am I right with the Motor Car words??? what would the third word be????
Updated as Mike's suggestion.....that could be it!

Maybe it is "Motor Car Distributors"!?

At least I found while googling "car mart ltd. by appointment of the duke of edinburgh" the following two documents and both contain as a Description for "Car Mart Sales, Ltd." "Motor Car Distributors":

Supplement to the london gazette, 1st january 1963 - The Gazette
Supplement to the london gazette, 1st january 1965 - The Gazette
