Works Triumph 2.5PI of Paddy Hopkirk Found

Post by mab01uk »

From Practical Classics:-
The discovery of this ex Paddy Hopkirk works Triumph 2.5 PI rally car XJB302H !
'At last I can release some pictures of the works Triumph of Paddy Hopkirk, which we have finally got to a safe place.
It is in amazing condition, having been hidden away since 1977. It even has the maps inside it from a Scottish event!’

Pretty sure the owner of this Paddy Hopkirk Triumph 2.5Pi was David Jenkins (see links below) who died recently and was a nearby neighbour of my brother who often said he had a hoard of interesting 1960/70s cars and parts stored including Paddy Hopkirk's Triumph 2.5Pi and other rare and valuable early Mini/works stuff and many interesting old Minis rotting into the ground outside....but that he was sadly reluctant to sell any of it, despite offers of help to catalogue and photograph the items for sale. I will post some photos from a few years back of the various Minis that were rotting in the undergrowth later.....

Thank you for that, it appears to look as if been stored in humid conditions. ;)

David had lots of interesting vehicles and parts, some of which have already been saved by forum members, a very interesting gentleman with a wealth of knowledge
