Barn find Mini ARB BMC Special Tuning ?

As the title says I’ve been sorting through a barn of parts of a close friend and this is one of the items I’ve come across. I had posted it on other social media with view of selling it and very quickly was overwhelmed by the interest in it and the different opinions and information I’d been given . At the moment it’s not for sale as the owner has asked me to find out more information on it . I’ve been told many things like it’s BMC special tuning , it’s the only boxed one left . I don’t know if any of this is correct as the owner purchased it in a large lot durin the 1970s . There are most likely people that will read this that have made offers and not happy with the owner’s decision to remove from sale until there is more information got . My intention is and has not been to annoy anyone.

Is it BMC special tuning ? The age ? Or a link to an original advert would be great

It a hydrolastic rear anti - role bar

Sold by special tuning and supplied by cooper car company .

They are rare but they are a few people on here that have them .

I believe that is the std version, they were also available with lightened brackets and different size square bars .

About 20 years ago I made some replicas , the difficult part is sourcing the special rose joints with removable centres and also finding spare section spring steel

the're a really good sway bar ...they fit both wet and dry as they mount behind the rear brake plates.
they mount up high and towards the back of the subframe and don't get in the way of the exhaust system.
I've had mine for 50 years on a few different cars...I'm old!

When I was a young lad I could f... up an anvil and sometimes the only thing left was the sway bar
