Jigsaws

Post by Beatlejohn »

I seem to recollect a recent topic on the forum re Mini related jigsaws. I recently purchased on Ebay the jigsaw pictured below and wondered if any other members have come across this one before.
Apart from the theme I was attracted to the style of the packaging consisting of a durable tin box, makes a nice change from the usual cardboard ones.
For the technocrats out there the jigsaw consists of 300 pieces and the size is 40x 30 cms.

The jigsaw case came from Hobbicraft, costs around £30.

That's got some odd parts on it. The hot air stove is from pre injection 1275 Mayfair or Sprite, and the exhaust manifold is from a pre-injection Rover Cooper. Also the thermostat housing is off a Rover era 1275.
Typical Haynes.

Ahhh - the assumption that it's a Mini engine...

Look at it as a Metro 998 and it's spot on.

Are that explains it. Never looked under the bonnet of a Metro. To be honest I have not stepped inside a Metro for over 30 years, horrible little cars.
