so recently bought a mk1 1961 mini minor to restore its been sprayed/badly/ red ,but when I looked under rear parcel shelf ,original colour is light blue, can I find out from vin or body number what colour it started life as cheers

Always a good idea to get a Heritage Certificate for your car if it’s history is unknown .

Light blue could be Speedwell blue - for an Austin.

cheers il need a heritage certificate to find out exact colour mine is a morris mini minor though

If its a Morris, it might be Clipper blue - like this one - courtesy of the 1959 Mini Register :-

Could be Smoke Grey by 1961 possibly? Most people would describe that as "light blue".

Smoke Grey is the colour most people remember on Morris Minors.
