Latest from Blyton Park....

An important notice for all of our customers and visitors.

Blyton Park Corona virus measures - update 15-3-2020

We are asking all of our customers follow government guidelines on hygiene and protocol to minimise the risk of contracting the Corvid-19 virus, and anyone showing signs of a constant cough or high temperature to stay at home in self isolation.

We are also implementing the following measures to help reduce the risk to our staff and customers.
Items 1 through 5 will be implemented for Track days / events / corporate bookings and item 6 will also apply to general test days.

1, All signing on and briefings will now be held in the grain store to give both more space between people and a ventilated environment, to this end the briefing room will remain locked at all times with access for essential needs only, and only then by a staff member or authorised person, having washed their hands before doing so.

2, The café will remain available for customers to order and pick up their food but any queuing will need to be done outside, the door will remain open at all times so no need to touch door handles etc. We require all people who enter the café to have washed their hands before doing so. We also ask organisers where possible to stage the lunch break into smaller groups.

3, The canteen part of the café will remain closed and out of bounds, we have set up tables in the grain store where customers can sit and eat their food.

4, Our preferred method of payment in the café will be contactless credit card and we ask our customers to use this option as much as possible rather than cash, reducing the potential for cross contamination.

5, For hot drinks, we ask that customers use the single use plastic spoons to add sugar to their drinks and then bin the spoon, we are also providing milk in shot glasses so they are individually used, once used they will be need to be placed into a receptacle for washing and recycling.

6, For general test days rather than events the café will remain closed and locked, so teams will need to make their own arrangements for drinks and food.

The management and staff at Blyton Park thank you for your understanding and co-operation in our attempts to work through this difficult time for all of us, lets help each other stay safe!

I think it’s fair to say that Blyton and indeed Javelin will have to review their event plans as things develop. I would strongly advise however against cancelling your bookings until more is known.

I"m glad the content of this forum includes items such as the Bill Gates presentation and that my knowledge is being increased not just regarding Minis.
Thank you.

On a similar note, I was amused to hear on the radio this morning that the statisticians have been crunching away & reckon that "the bug" has killed 3,000 people in China, but that 50,000 less died than expected due to the reduction in pollution due to the factories being closed.

Make of that what you want

For anyone interested in this sort of stuff, I have found a brilliant website that may be of interest.
