I’ve just had a reply from the seller-I asked for pics of the floor pans, sills, scuttle etc-his reply”come and have a look at it ,that’s what a serious buyer would do”!!!
And spec of the engine? “ 1275 mate”- big help that!!
I wouldn’t buy it now purely down to his attitude....

I've had my eye on this one myself too, the mods and non original stuff don't bother me much as I'm after a Mk1 to personalise a bit, but if that's how the seller talks to potential buyers, well.... pity really as it's not far from me. He's also got it on c&c at a different price... https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1175121

When pressed, the seller also revealed he has owned it for two years, but hasn’t driven it in that time as he has another car.....

Sellers do tend to get bombard with requests for photos from people and photos don’t always tell the full story. Better off seeing in the flesh if you really like the car.

Its fair to say a really tidy Mk1 with a decent 1275 engine will rarely come up for sale for much less than £15k if that’s what you’re looking for, but it does happen. In fact I thought I’d seen an Almond Green one for sale fitting that description recently?

Andrew1967 wrote:Depends if you want a 1275 I suppose, but £10k would buy a nice and pretty original Mk1 850.

Personally ... I wouldn't say its worth anywhere near that and to correct that flip front would be a big and expensive job to do correctly.
I've not seen any Mk1s advertised at £10k recently Andrew, most at the moment seem to be in the £12k - £20k bracket. Some of them on c&c have been hanging round for awhile too.

Better think about getting my 60 ready for sale then Nidge. ;)

Was thinking about selling last year it but didn't want to let it go for 10K, which seemed to be about all it was worth then.
