Hi folks,
As above I have a GT block and a 22G1832 gearbox, believe they belonged together at some point.
I have a couple of questions. Where can I find the laygear number to identify the gear set in the box? I’ve rotated it many times and cannot see a stamping - or maybe I’m not looking hard enough?
Second of all - value.
The block has been rebuilt at standard bore with main and big end bearings, new rings and thrusts. But if you are being picky it may want a rebore. It was rebuilt back in the 80’s and never used.
The box was also completely rebuilt and to me looks like new synchros as they are particularly nice and sharp on the teeth. Again rebuilt in the 80’s and never used. Rough idea of value if it’s a GT box - I understand it would be a close ratio kit.

Any help would be appreciated. They will be for sale if value is worth it.

I can tell you by the looks that that is the standard (Not CR) box. Not all layshafts are stamped.

Easiest way is to count the teeth on the input shaft, 17 for standard and 18 for close ratio.

Many standard laygears are not stamped as Vegard says.

Thanks for the info.
It is a standard box as Vegard said.
Again it’s fully rebuilt. Anyone an idea of value? worth £250 - £300?

It's dirty, so if I bought it I'd have it stripped again....I guess it's worth a couple of hundred quid?
