Lunch with Paddy -questions please.

Post by Lakeland997 »

Last year I submitted an entry to a competition run by the IAM to win lunch with Paddy Hopkirk.
Well apparently I won and it’s next week at Silverstone.

What shall I ask him guys?

Andy
I’m giving up asking rhetorical questions. What’s the point?

Take your car & get him in it to have a razz around Silverstone. :)

Wow, What a fantastic opportunity!

Not an easy question though. Personally, I'd steer well clear of anything to do with 1966, headlights etc. And just hope that he has a few drinks & starts talking about what he wants to talk about.

All these old boys have a set number of stories that they have well rehearsed & can do pretty much when they are asleep. It would be nice if you could get a glimpse behind that veil.

Not asking much then :)

Some good Paddy Hopkirk stories and film clips in this documentary (4 parts) :-
"Jason Barlow hosts this BBC documentary retracing the route of the 1964 Monte Carlo rally with the great man himself."

His 67 Acropolis win he is very proud of Andy. ;) I've been out of action for a while, long story, and he rang me to see how I was doing. A twenty minute chat and Minis and rallying wasn't mentioned, a personal record for me :!:
