I Popped to a local mini specialist this morning and he showed me a new minispares right hand tank.
The side you see facing into the boot has a large pressing “ made in Taiwan” really spoilers a nicely made tank..

I got a couple of tanks off them last year and there was no stamping on them.

Maybe they changed supplier, I think they had some issue's with rust under the powdercoat on some tanks

A skim of filler over the indented stamping and some black paint maybe?

Yes a skim and repaint will sort it but will add to the overall cost..
I guess they have to stamp it on a flat panel and that’s the only one, it’s an ugly big visual..

It’s near the battery. Put a sticker over it :)

Yep, I had one of those. Looked like the tank had surface rust prior to being powder coated as it was peeling off in big flakes. Had to strip the tank and start again. The next one I got was perfect though, so looks like the finishing issue was remedied.

Suppose it boils down to what you want......trying to pass it off as original or happy to accept a replica ??
