A Huge thank you to those people who have chucked their name into the hat to do an hours marshalling.

However, i can't say that I am not disappointed by the number of volunteers so far.

The event sold out in 48 hours, but in a longer period of time, asking for people to donate an hour to helping Pete & I run it, we have had SEVEN who aren't directly or indirectly related to us. We need at least 20!

Please drop me a line if you can spare just an hour WE REALLY DO NEED YOU!

If anyone's worried about not knowing what's involved, it's the easiest thing in the world - if you are on the gate you say hello to folk, shake a bucket at them and ask for a donation. (if they have a flash car, tell them the average donation is more..... ) then direct them to the public parking area, the Mini bit, the track cars or plastic fantastic area.

If you are in the main area you kind of wave vaguely to point folk in the right direction if they don't know from the directions at the gate.

The only 'issues' I've ever had were a couple of folk not donating ANYTHING (not an issue really, just a bit annoying) and the odd modern MINI driver asking why they can't "be in a display area like other mini shows" (the answer is 'cause this isn't like other mini shows)

Really not difficult, so there's no excuse not to help for an hour or so.

Al

I'd like to offer my time, but wont know until nearer the time if I'm going.
I'm good at standing around in Hi-viz, some would say that's all I do on site anyway

Hiya Mark, in the spirit of Corporal Jones “ I’d like to volunteer to help with telling people what to do Captain Mainwaring” do I get a badge? (Quite like a badge)

Thank you folks. Any offers much appreciated.

If anyone prepared to give us an hour could PM me with a mobile number it would be much appreciated.

If we can get enough folks, I can get it all done "official like" & let everyone know when their hour will be before the event.

Thanks,

M

Mark,

You can pop myself and my brother (Andrew Gray) down as well. I haven't told him but I'm sure he won't mind.

Thanks for all the offers folks. It’d be great to have one marshal at any one time on the bottom paddock/trade section from about 8 until late morning to keep things tidy down there, ditto one or two on the main paddock road to direct and park visitors, plus two on the gate until about 1pm.

One thing I’ll do this year is produce a modest programme sheet so everybody knows what we’re doing and when. That way me and Mark won’t be talking to ourselves and handing each other awards again like last year!

Re awards.

I don't see the point in doing the awards outside the hut. I reckon we should just take them round to the individual owners & present them with the cars. That way at least we can get a decent photo of car & owner together.

Last year was a total shambles.
