I recently bought a couple of new/unused parts off eBay, and they came in this Minispares bag. I’m guessing this is an older packaging design, and was just curious when they stopped using it?

prior to this logo the original Minispares logo was simply yellow letters on blue ground.

Crikey that’s a blast form the past.

I remember going there back in the day, it was somewhere in Southgate if I recall correctly. Sometime in the mid to late 80’s would be my best guess.

I used to go to the BP station around the corner with work - last time I went about 5 years ago the Old Mini Spares premises was something to do with dance shoes

If that's the old Friern Barnet shop, I think it was bulldozed years ago and flats built there.

I first went in 1984 and again in 1992.

I went there once in the mid 80's to get parts for TVB 56F, my Mk2 Cooper. It was in Friern Barnet Road, Southgate, IIRC.

Got the tube across London and then train back to Welling in Kent, where my grandparents lived, armed with a genuine Mk2 Cooper grille, a pair of NOS genuine 998 Cooper discs and a few other bits as well ..

Wasn’t there another minspares company before this , back in the late sixties there was a shop at Amen corner in Tooting and also a branch near the Oval in London, mostly S/h spares from cars they broke up. When you were trying to run an 850 mini on a budget they were the first port of call .

I took this picture in 1984 on the way back from Mini 25 at Donigton.

Yes I remember the shop very well in the late 80th
when I bought an rollbarr during my vacation.
There is also a very nice film of the shop from
a Japanese guy buying a lot of parts from there.

Kees.
