So, with the events season drawing to a close, thoughts turn to next year...… :)

After the relative success of last years inaugural road run in the borders, and having discussed it with a few forum members and Mark, I'm making plans for a re-run next year.

Initial plans are to use broadly the same format, but to run the route in reverse direction, as it will feel a bit different, but a lot of the leg work has been done and the logistics seemed to work ok.

Plan is also to use the same late May bank holiday weekend (sun 24th) for a number of reasons - it's tricky to find a date that suits everyone and the Monday to travel home without using up holidays; It seems likely the Jim Clark Rally will be on the same date, but further east; The Mini clan's Thistle run is in many ways an unfortunate clash, but also helps us keep our smaller run manageable and dare I say it, 'more exclusive' (they should be on the Falkirk - St Andrews route this coming year, I think)

I'll speak with the Tontine in Peebles to see if they can accommodate us again as those who stayed I think found it to be OK, and the meal on the Saturday night was good, but I don't suppose there is a huge need to book just yet, as I don't suppose I'll do much more 'planning' this side of Xmas.

As we did last year, we plan to limit numbers to around 15 cars to keep it manageable, but are hopeful that we'll exceed the 6 that did the inaugural run. as far as I know, everyone who came last year plan to come again (though Kev asks that if I'm passenger I don't ask him if he's finished my moke yet ALL the way round  )

So, get building / rebuilding, and remember, if Robb can drive a newly built supercharged 850 to Goodwood and back, you've no excuse!

Obviously I won't have a car ready, but assume my favourite benefactor will provide, Mark?

Al

Being based in Devon put me off last year but maybe i should just man up and make the effort for 2020!

Count me in please.

The Forsters will certainly be up for this again. It was a fantastic weekend. This time we will be bringing 2 cars with us.

I am certainly up for this next year. I really wanted to go this year but as usual too much work gets in the way of life (my own doing).
New years resolution, more mini time!
