FYI, the photo I posted is a crop from the Dutch national archive:
https://www.nationaalarchief.nl/onderzo ... 3048976d84
The caption confirms it’s from the 1966 Tulip rally.

Original here: https://download-images.memorix.nl/naa/ ... 6c4f822f19? and you might be able to make out the car’s entry number 100 from the reflection on the front wing of car 89 next to it...

If you look back through the photos on works car found thread, there's one of 5D on the 66 Tulip crewed by Makinen and Easter ( posted by Pete ) and you can see black wiper arms and possibly twin washers......that's what I've based my guess on :?

Definitely GRX 5D for the '66 Tulip, and yes twin washer jets like Paul's GRX 309D. I think we did wonder whether it was the same car but decided they couldn't be.

(Sorry thats not a very good captrion either! )

Caption suggestion. "Was it a Morris or an Austin?"
A quick search of images reveals that there are Dutch picures of both cars wearing the number plates on both versions!

Ha, that’s hilarious.

I guess the photo is from shortly before the rally, as #100 (GRX5D) still has its Morris badges, whereas it finished as an Austin - having swapped them with the winning car #89 (GRX 310D) :)

Yes....we did discuss and consider that scenario Pete, and that would add some more interesting history to Paul's car, but as we ( as yet  ) have no conclusive evidence, we thought it best not to speculate :)

........sorry, that's not the best caption either
