Mk2 bonnet catch

Post by Daz1968 »

I am coming to the end of my restoration, however my mk2 car has a mk1 bonnet catch assembly fitted, does anyone have a close up picture and rough dimensions for the bar welded to the mechanism, as it looks a pretty easy part to make and weld in position.
Thanks

Daz

The steel bar is 1/4" dia. x 3 1/8" long.

The bar comes straight out of the bracket for 3/4" & bends down slightly, it then turns up at approx. 3/8" rad. leaning slightly to the left, it then rises vertically for the last 1/2" & has rounded off top.

The top of the bar is 1 3/8" above the bottom face of the 'V' shaped bracket.

Hope this makes sense.

The easy option. Might be of interest.
