As was feared, the minis aren’t to race again at the Revival. Looks to be a great weekend though for sure!

yeah..saw this last night. bit of a bummer..I was sort of getting into the 'every other year' syndrome with minis racing there.
Anyway...like you say...should be a good weekend anyway. Plus we 'WILL' have 60 minis on display...

got this email this morning from Goodwood.

'In celebration of sixty years since the Cooper Car Company won the Formula One World Championship, the Goodwood Revival will celebrate all things Cooper with numerous examples competing across the racing weekend, and a track parade each day. Expect to see cars ranging from the Cooper-Norton Mk5, Stirling Moss’ first car, a Monaco-winning T45, the ground-breaking T54 and mighty T61s.'

are we going to be seeing some CCC minis on display as well as all the others then?

Just got an e-mail flyer headed "Minis and mini skirts aplenty" ....saying they'll have three Beatles' minis there and Cilla Black's (which as I remember it is a 1970s W+P?). "Beatlemania is going to hit Goodwood this September in a big way, as the Revival brings Swinging Sixties London to life in its inimitable way. Mini Coopers custom built for Paul, George and Ringo along with Cilla Black’s Mini, will be parked outside ‘Abbey Road Studios’ as part of our celebration of 60 years of the Mini"..

Any ideas when we might get to know if our applications to display have been successful.?

September may be a way off on the calendar but not when it comes to sorting accommodation or anything around goodwood weekend.

Sorry, I have passed all details received on, as they requested. But I have absolutely no other details at the moment. I am assuming they will contact owners direct.

Before the 2009 revival, I wasn’t informed until mid to late August.

That made it really trying to find somewhere to stay.

I didn’t have a trailer then either so had to drive there from Northampton, which was entertaining.
The event was aswsome though, as many members here will recall. I don’t think I’ll get the chance again, due to my car not being eligible for anything outer than being a mini curiosity, and for not holding up my part of the deal of displaying the car for the whole weekend.

I had to leave early on the Sunday.

It’s the only thing that put a downer on the whole weekend for me, I got a phone call on the Sunday lunchtime to say my 14 weeks premature son had been taken into hospital with very severe breathing difficulties. :(

Eventually after a long stay he recovered, thankfully.

Only just looking into this as it seems fantastic - but accommodation finding is tricky! I'll have two lady friends in tow so camping is out - any ideas anyone?

Look for digs slightly further out from Chichester either side of the railway station and catch the train in.
There are vintage busses Goodwood use as regular shuttles from Chichester station to the Revival.
You won’t get the elevated accommodation costs either that you’ll find in the Goodwood area
