IMO they are pretty much home made.

As noted the 5 should be an S, so they can't be original.

I totally agree, these are home made number plates.

As others have said, home made chassic plate. I'm wondering if this Mini was reshelled back in the 60's after an accident and the original chassis plate was destroyed?

Its also got an FE Number. Its actually quite an oddity, as it also has the non-recessed rear wind shield, for starter, magic wand and cone suspension.

On further inspection, it seems that an early days repairer cut the front of a 62 mini and the inner wings and welded it to the bulk head of a June 60 mini. A mini-frankenstein, question is does that make it a June 60 mini or a 62 mini ? The most notable differences between the 2 being the Floorpan and the non recessed windows. However the pre-mk1 floor pan is rotten, and needs chopping out. Does anyone know if they still make replacement floor pans for a pre mk1 ?

What's a Pre Mk1?

Yes Mini Machine make full early floors but without the correct October 59 to October 61 floor depression
