That’s the second-most ugly mini I’ve seen this week...

This was the winner

Been reading some of the comments on the BAT site regarding this mini...I give up!
I have no idea what this car is....could be any year...could be any model...could be anything! Looks like a bitza.
It is already over $4Kusd......suppose the bits that have been added are worth that ....ish!

I'm surprised this is even on BAT. It can be surprisingly difficult to get your car listed on a BAT auction (according to friends of mine who have tried), and the BAT guys aren't so clueless that they wouldn't know a 'Bitsa when they see one.

This is a completely pedestrian car that isn't worth the discussion on BAT. It's an eBay type car, looks solid enough to drive around, but far from having any sort of pedigree.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Dermott...

Strikes me that the yellow BAT mini was probably at least partially built from the claimed 61 SDL - the early heater, narrow quarter window catches, piano hinges, Mk1 rear panel - but it has obviously been rebuilt using a later front end including cutout front panel, Mk2 grille and bonnet trim. But really not sure how it ended up with a RHD parking wipers and scuttle, and no cowling on the inner wing...

Then the real hackers got to it and ‘cooperised’ it with a second tank, electric fuel pump, magnolia dash, and the hideous “full gimp” wipe-down internal trim.

Maybe it’s actually a composite of two cars, or a re-shell of the original SDL into a later Mk1 S shell? That would be a turnaround to the usual :)

Gutting it, painting it back to signal red, and a Newton Commercial interior would go a long way to making it easier on the eye...

The heritage certificate shows the original colour to be Tartan red but inside the car there are significant areas where the paint has rubbed off and it looks to be blue underneath so it most likely is not the original shell.

It looks to be an early shell because there is no heater fresh air hose hole in the RHS dash panel.
