Glorious down there! They need rain! Journo Richard Meaden was quickest Mini in Jason Stanley's Swiftune car in first qualy (15th on the grid), Stig Blomqvist 2nd quickest in Nick Jarvis' Swiftune car and Jonny Adam 3rd quickest in Swifty's own car, all the Minis well behind the dominating big Ford bangers.

I’m going in the morning. Fellow Mini owner & friend coming from Hamburg with family to join us so should be good fun. Snoopy, what forcast are you using as I can’t see any rain.... As Mini is not finished, will be going in the 308. Shame we generally don’t know each other as it would be nice to chat with fellow Mk 1 Forum ers....

Nick Swift (11th) two places ahead of Jonathan Lewis with Jason Stanley two places behind him in the 'am' qualifying this afternoon. Nick was almost two seconds faster than Lewis.

Spoiler alert:

Just watching on the live stream. Jason Stanley's Swiftune car unfortunately got spun around by one of the Cortinas, and went nose first into the barriers at close to full speed. Driver fine but the car is a bit of a mess. :(

This is why I dislike the Revival. Love to see the cars but they are too precious for future generations to be written off. Friday saw a Ferrari GTO? and an E Type smack into each other as well as a big american car plough into the barriers.

and on Facebook - RIP. He was such a great story teller as well as driver.

"Most of you know, but following a short spell in hospital Barrie died this morning 8th September 2018. This weekend Andy Harrison will be racing at Goodwood In tribute to one of the best all rounders club motorsport has ever known. PB"
