Hi there everyone. I’m sure many have seen this old production reel footage of mini production in 1969, but I must say I was surprised to see the above ‘works mini’ casually parked roadside outside the plant. As someone trying to recreate the above car I was chuffed to see it. All the best Selb https://youtu.be/DU819ipZ1ck |

An interesting film but I don't imagine that LBL6D just happened to be there any more than Mr Issigonis in 621AOK just happened to be driving past ![]() |

I wonder if the new paintwork on any front wings was ever damaged by the bloke filling the Mini radiators with a metal watering can at 1.00 minute in. I doubt that method would get past quality control at the Cowley MINI Plant today! ![]() |

Well spotted OEW. I hadn’t noticed the rego number on the white mini. A bit of product placement never goes astray! I’m a bit naive, I thought the guy filling the radiators may have driven the works car to work. (I note the rally plate had been returned to the bonnet placement location at the time for those interested in trivia like that). Cheers |

I think that is spare footage from the 2,000,000th Mini presentation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUBwUyokNhc |

I thought so too Stuart. Brilliant that such film has survived and is now so accessible too ![]() Interesting that BMC didn't capitalise on making 1000,000 and 2000,000 Minis in the way they did with the Minor 1000: Making a limited edition. Rover produced more than enough limited edition Minis later didn't they! |
