Yep....., what's the problem with the Burlem replacements. Much easier and just as reliable as bronze is brass. I'm all for using a local home hobbyist....., one of those retired model engineers. Their work is absolutely superb and they'd probably have more brass off-cuts than you could swing a cat at. Plus they'll work for pocket money prices

Running brass on brass isn’t ideal though.

Been OK on mine since 1986 or so when I did an absolute and total restoration although admittedly, it only does a 1500 - 2000 thousand miles a year . I seem to recall that Terry Mitchell the Chief design engineer at MG turned them.

Thank you all for your replies, they were very helpful.

Scott, they are expensive because minimum order was 69: https://www.atlasbronze.com/SAE-841-Bushing-5-16-x-3-8-x-3-4-L-p/s841bss-1012-12.htm
Then there is a packing charge of 10USD + shipping and on top of that I have the customs/VAT fees. All together, pretty expensive for what it is.

David (dearg1275) made a very good suggestion, I've ordered a couple and it is what I was looking for.

Many thanks guys!
