Just a heads up to all of the Forum members on this side of the pond (and elsewhere)...looks like the big carriers will be increasing the cost of air freight as the price of oil continues to rise....downstream fuel is going through the roof.

We are now paying around $1.30 per litre for gas and warnings that this will increase dramatically over the summer.
I decided to hedge and purchase all of the panels and Newton seat supplies I needed and have them shipped last week...just in case.
Might be a good time to make your big purchases now and get ahead of the extra shipping costs.

This probably doesn’t happen very often! Right now regular unleaded is AUD$1.40/L which converts this morning to USD$1.05 , so we actually have cheaper petrol than the USA

I think the US is paying less than that!

I am in Canada....same price....where I am...but I am in the heart of oil country...next province over is paying around $1.60.
The point is...freight is going up...the airlines did a crafty move back when we had the last oil crunch...the invoked a thing call a fuel surcharge...this allows them to change it whenever the want...

That's a shame, it's proof of how fuel costs impact international trade.

For a few years, I've ordered 99% of all my mini parts directly from the UK because parts are usually half the cost of what they are from U.S. suppliers ---and because shipping via DHL was incredibly reasonable.
