Considering purchasing new replacement sliding window chrome bottom rail.
Certainly a lot less expensive over having old ones re-chromed, Anyone have experience with the replacements...are they good????
I know most of us prefer original equipment however, items like this have little exposure to the eye....comments appreciated.

I had a pair re-chromed. Perhaps there was too much corrosion but they came back seriously out of shape. Lovely chrome though!

I purchased new, they are not stamped a sharply as originals. With metal catches it took some reworking to make them slide and lock. May be better with plastic catches, I would have originals rechromed next time.

Interesting, I do have a few decent sets here that I will take to be re-chromed....seems like everyone so far prefers the old ones.
Thanks for the input....will head off to the chrome shop on Monday.
