As a seller .... why do you get people asking if it's still for sale . You contact them and say it is . Then you don't here from them  ...

Personally I usually put PM sent in the thead & PM direct to seller. I don't have any problem with doing this.

Some people get paranoid about other people knowing what they are buying & this is one reason for them not making a note in the general thread, however this is up to them.

I don't feel that this is something that we can have a general policy on & feel that buyer & seller should just do whatever they feel is best. A seller will always have the final say in who he sells to, in most cases it's first come first served, but if the seller has good reason to sell to someone else, then it is down to him.

"Pinching" stuff after someone else has posted a wanted ad certainly goes on, but once again there is not a lot anyone can do about this.

It also depends how often users check the forum.
If you don’t log in for a few days after posting a wanted ad then there’s a good chance someone else will benefit...

What about the Etiquette for 'Wanted ads

I was really pissed off when I asked for the wand conversion for the remote box recently only to have the item stolen from under my nose by members in the USA and Europe, in my opinion their actions were underhanded, if they had wanted the items why not post their own ad?

Rant over, does any one have the items for this conversion, or individual parts of the three part kit.

Please pm me if you can help

Yeah that one is frustrating. Often a "wanted" ad will jog my memory that I'm looking for the same item, but usually I only chime-in if more than one are presented in the thread (or mention that I'd be happily second in line if two are available).

I agree and certainly not suggesting thats right BUT for example if the first buyer in the queue wants a large item posting to the other side of the world and the second lives five miles away he's under absolutely no obligation to sell to the first contact

I suppose that's also the premise of the many "Items for Sale at [Blyton/Bealieu/Etc]" threads on this forum that won't sell items in advance of the show, especially to people that can't attend.

Obviously those of us outside the UK/EU are at a geographic disadvantage there, and I understand the hassle of shipping when a parts fair is coming up and it's much easier to sell things in person. The threads are just a teaser, though! :(
