Maybe do it as a Winter tour and avoid a lot of the calendar clashes?

only problem with that might be, well, this:

Imagesnow

This was in late Spring (March, I think), but it would depend if folks keep their cars on the road later in the year.

Certainly an option to consider

Sounds good, as long as you don't mind an ADO16 trailing along at the back

This is sounding good and a realistic drive for us from across the Irish Sea as well.
My Mini was first registered in Carlisle so it would be a "coming home" trip.
Hope to hear more re dates and locations suggested.

While I'm currently unable to attend anything soon, as a suggestion I found works well is to make it a weekend trip, but plan it such that people can 'pop in' and also 'finish early' on either day as well, so you can have some doing just one day and others going the distance ;)

This will broaden the scope and scenery as well as give more time to work the jaw, as I'm sure so many of you guys like to do when you hook up, face to face.

If it's to be Mums & Dads & families, keep the blocks of travel times to between 1 to 3 hrs with good break times in between.

I'm sure there'd be some great places for the over night stop for those doing the full 2 days.

While a double edged sword, we also found that the smaller numbers (around 5 to 10 cars) is much more friendly than say a run with 30 or more. These days, anything over 10 cars and I'm out.

I would agree 100% with spiders's comments. Any runs we have done taking the back roads will get too disjointed if there's too many cars.

Also if there was to be a stop over, it would need, preferably secure or out of view parking.

So Al it up to you now. :D
