Yes it was a 65 US LHD was sold with title into Tennessee with full roll cage and the tree landed end for end heavy damage at front bending roof and cage. It was sold on into UK where buyer contacted NC guy ( owner for many years ) for additional info and paper work. Just got off the phone with him. 80 and still messing with minis. Steve (CTR)

I remember the car for sale in the States about a 1.5 years ago. She was a LHD S with all the original tags etc. The owner had just sold it when I made enquiries. Shame the original shell is not being restored :(

I have been doing a little digging on this too.
It's the Barry Williams car and ran out of Ohio.
He won the Central division in 1971 which got him a spot at the Runoffs in Atlanta that year, but seems to be a non starter though.
What I cannot confirm is the fact that he was running D Sedan, so it was an under 1,000cc class.
Not sure if its the came car. Obviously switched to C Sedan later, the 1000-1300 class.
I have a period picture somewhere I need to dig up.

I remember when it was for sale the first time and it was offered to me again by the Tennessee owner. Being LHD and roofless turned me off abit.
Sad to see its state now. Should be racing in the States.

+1

This car was stripped of it's great history, especially if the tags are gone and no longer with the shell. A known race car with a "donor" log book is completely missing the point, not to mention dishonest IMO.

I'd love to see it stay in the States and race, but people here are way too cheap about these cars, and our current exchange rate means it's buying time for the UK again. :(
