I was quite surprised to see this U.S racer shell pop up for sale on Facebook recently. Looks the real deal for a late Mk1 S, it's a shame its not been restored but it sold quick and is now being flipped by 'Will IK' on Ebay with the offer of a donor logbook.

So what I'm interested in is what's the history of it, before it's lost!

I saw that the other day. Wasn't aware it had been Wil-I-k'd.

Someone must know something about it.

I should check my notes, I believe that is an ex SCCA C sedan race car out of the Mid Ohio area. Seems the owner moved to North Carolina upon retirement. The car was stored in an out building which a tree fell on during Isabel the storm. If i recall it was offered for sell with a donor roof. I think it came with a SCCA log book. I may have the contact info for the guy who raced it back in the day. Steve (CTR)

Yes well spotted, I presume the body number aswell. The shell is quite peppered so I can understand the UK owner (on here?) reshelling the car in a way, though it's a shame!

So was it a left hooker U.S car Steve or a RHD import to start with? I bet Wayne Carini would have liked to have dragged it out of the barn, maybe not when he saw the roof though??

FE number probably been Will-I-K’d as well to try to disguise its true ID, if it’s being offered with one of his dodgy logbooks
