Looking good, I'm doing the same job on mine at the moment. Did you manage to find a source for the rivets?

Have a couple of packs on the way...also, a friend in the UK maybe able to help as well.
When these arrive I will let you what I think...from the description they look darn close.

I recommend the same process that 360gts presented in his earlier post. Evaluate the condition of the surface then start with the appropriate/necessary grade of wet/dry paper. Continue with progressively finer grits until about 2500 or 3000 grit. Then switch to your preferred metal polish on a cotton wheel. Basically treat the surface like it was paint.

I also want to add that "normal" WD-40 in the blue and yellow cans does not contain silicone. WD-40 with silicone comes in the black and yellow can.
