There are many places that offer embossed alloy plate by the sheet. I wonder if any of them are close enough to make up some copies?

Was this not an Austin/Morris thing?

I've had a couple of Island blue Austins around 1964/5 that had these.

Is it a hang-over from Morris having to retain the painted grill, when they started to use the Austin engine, Austin wanting to use lots of brightwork ?

These cross member covers i have looked and there is no repro or sheet alloy anywhere near what is a light embossed original item.. i found a set on ebay they do come around but never cheap.
The hard to find bits are the same patter alloy kick plates that fit onto the front inner sills.. never mind just cover these areas with carpet & pretend its a Morris:roll:

The embossing is very shallow, its almost just a surface treatment. If you were really keen I reckon you could get flat aluminium sheet laser etched with a pretty convincing pattern.
