Hello: I have seen metal (aluminium?) covers that sit on the cross member between the seat and door on early (say 1963) models. For example, if you have Taylor’s “Factory-Original Mini Mk1 & MkII” there is a photo on page 70.
I have not been able to find out the name or part number for these cover plates.
Does anyone know their name and part number, and whether they are available?
Many thanks

In the UK these trims (called kicking plates) were fitted to Deluxe Austin models only during the early 60s up to chassis number 311496 - probably the end of '62.

My '61 Woody has them.

They are made in aluminium with a cross-hatched pattern pressed in. P/n is 14A 7506.

The inner sill forward of the X member has flat kick plates in the same material p/n 14A 7507 (RH) and 7508 (LH) .

These are all fixed by PTZ 604 screws.

I have some spare Xmember plates but obviously your in Oz and I'm in the UK.

I took them off my 61 Austin Seven when she went to scrap (yes I know - but she really was beyond saving) and now fitted to my 64 Morris Mini Traveller just to annoy all the purists out there lol

Spotted these in the pile of bits to dig through from the 80s garage. I think they must have come off our 64 ;-)
