Any forumer out there in the plastic/binding/printing industry want to make some BMC type related money? I wonder of anyone in that sort of trade or industry has ever considered reproducing the dark blue SERVICE PARTS LIST four ring binders. There must be plenty out there, like me, in the Mini/BMC universe who've got BMC cars and parts lists with old tatty split binders who'd jump at the chance of a good replacement. I look on the various auction sites but never seen even a sniff of a half decent replacement.

They were probably produced round these parts, coming from Nuffield Press at Cowley.

Good idea Peter.

They also had White, Red and Black. I'm not sure if these colours related to anything or just the period or what was on the shelf.

I know there many an office stationary suppliers who can print what ever one wants on these with only small runs needed.

There was also some folders though that had the windows in them.

All the pommy ones I've seen are black with the window. You're right about the other colours in Oz as we had them for our Army Morris Commercial 1 ton trucks.

If the Pommy ones are Black, then best add Blue to that list!

I did have a White one years back which was ex-UK, the Morris Minor 1000 Workshop Manual. No, swapped that years ago for something useful!

Surprising really that Brooklands books have not done the Mini given what else they do:

Getting them done with the window would be prohibitively expensive & the quantities involved would be horrendous. This would in my opinion, having worked in the screen printing industry in a former life, be a total non starter.

Getting a batch of files printed up as "lookalikes" but without the window would certainly be possible, but as with all these type of schemes it all depends on interested numbers.

I have thought about doing the ST binders in the past but even finding binders of the correct colour & more importantly old imperial size is nigh on impossible.

Found this last week, whilst rummaging through a local charity shop book case.
AKD1178D £2.50 including period oil stains  Opened up today and found some "Islington public libraries" stamps on one or two pages

That's about it then. Here endeth the lesson as they used to say in biblical times! Looks like a standard Ryman ring binder hereafter! But a good idea I'd say.......

Here in Switzerland, it would cost a madness. Duplicating a custom ring binder with a window would cost around £ 30-40. And you need to create at least 500 pcs. Then the imperial measuring rings are no longer found.
