I’m pleased Ringo Star has been honoured for services to music in the New Year’s honour list. His honour is given under his real name, Richard Starkey. It comes 20 years after Paul McCartney was knighted and adds to the 1965 MBE received by all four Beatles. Sir Ringo’s contribution to charity work is well known and his knighthood is long overdue in my opinion. :D :D

The only honour this year worthy in my opinion. What do others think?

Alan

That was a shocker, he should have been gunged! Makes you wonder doesn't it, destroys his party, sells out the voters and gets a knighthood! I think the public should nominate the recipients not the top brass!!

John & Martin so in agreement with you both. How did Eamonn Holmes from over here receive an OBE? He is a run of the mill journalist and newsreader I have to say.

Ronnie, thanks and you have made a good point. Jobs for the boys? You too John A :)

However, what about Ringo's two big hits? Photograph and You're sixteen you're beautiful (and you're mine) :D :D
