I have the option to purchase a MKI shell but the cant rail is shot over the passenger door and I was wondering if these are available from M Machine or Heritage given they are now selling a MKIish shell or am I going to have to cut sections from a scrapper if I can get it.

Hi there, M-Machine don't have them in their catalogue I'm afraid, I just checked. You may strike luck with Heritage?

These were removed on later models because the rust they created in the extra seam I have been told, so getting good ones from a scrappie may be tough. Back in the day we used to grind them off to avoid the rust issues.

Whilst I do not wish to part with them for obvious reasons, I do have a pair of genuine ones that you could come and measure up if that helped at all?

The cant rail is on the inside of the car. It's the drip rail that's on the outside

I will give Doreen a call and hopefully she can help. This is a complete blank canvas as it has no interior/glass or engine so I am looking forward to restoring the shell and giving it a 60's retro vibe with period extras and a period coachbuilt colour scheme.

Possibly Neil, but the 60 is too original albeit very rusty for what I have in mind.I may let the 60 go to someone who would restore it back to its condition rather than modify it which is what I want to do with the MKI.
