Nick is the registration date on the reg papers of your car 1960? In SA, if a car has been off the road, and off the registration system, for long it can be re-registered as a built up car. The registration date will then be the date the vehicle was re-introduced onto the eNatis system, usually recent like 2017. That could also explain a built up description on the reg docs.

Trevor gave great advice though.

I think this maybe the reason

Nick, seems like this Murphy guy deserves the old That’s Life Jobsworths hat !

Have you spoken to Paul Sulma about the situation ?

What a bell.
I feel your pain.
I had to get a 1920’s car registered and I used the appropriate club.
Perhaps this could help you out? I thought all applications had to be backed up by an Approved Club Official?

This thread is a superb example of of what people do when they're in this sort of situation, caused by jobsworths who have no idea of nouse, common sense or the bleedin obvious. They seem to sniff out problems or obstructions that ain't there in the first place. And they do, because they can! This is what I'd be seriously considering now........... I'd be looking to buy or acquire a total heap of tat or SORNed mini or anything else and change the identity. It's as simple as that! Your nice imported car becomes the old heap of tat and the now unidentifiable heap of tat goes to the scrap yard.

What's the offence? Who's the aggrieved? Who's out of pocket? Who's been defrauded? who's going to know? Then, keep all of the previous obstructive and total waste of time paperwork filed away so that if, many years ahead anything comes to light and 'someone' decide to take you on............ Let's see what offence they come up with first (because they're going to struggle, believe me) ........... and produce what you've got to the magistrates if it ever gets that far, and tell them straight. Because democratic law tells us what you CAN'T do, not what you CAN do.

I suppose that you could take it all up with your MP and see what response he gets but I wouldn't be holding my breath......

Don't bother with any holier-than-thou replies

You may even be able to acquire a heap of tat with an ' interesting ' identity attached to it.......
