Downton had at least 2 Marigold coloured vans (both christened marigold), as well as at least 1 pick up. The pickup was modified but the vans weren't. Or at least they remained 850.

I have always wanted to do a replica of Marigold, but finding a nice early van at sensible money is impossible nowadays.

Thats an interesting thing, although the story doesn't quite stack up.

I'm sure it will go ballistic though as everyone on ebay seems to take a sellers blurb as gospel truth.

Lol,

Quote ebay listing.
"The bodyshell is totally original and has never been welded"

Quote Brightwells the other week.
"..wrapping the whole lot round a tree on the local bypass. Which the vendor did. That was back in 1968. The mortal remains transplanted into a new BMC bodyshell (plus one rear door)"

Gospel   .
