I've just put one in my 850, although I do some longer runs during the year (up to 900km) so its really handy having the extra tank, you can also go a long way over here between petrol stations sometimes. It's also nice to be able to fill up one tank before a short drive and have plenty of fuel and not have it slosh out around the corners

The Army bog standard 850 mini's that we had in Malaya all had twin fuel tanks and opening rear windows and no heaters. The latter for obvious reasons. Twin fuel tanks because of the long distances between safe fuel stops. Mind you, a mini wasn't likely to be going anywhere on its own without an armed escort! I did see a twin tanked ex RAF Mk2 mini parked up in Oxford once. Easy to tell because it was in that grey/blue colour overpainted in Island blue to hide its origins. Why am I saying this? Well, it COULD be possible that there is still out there somewhere a couple of factory fitted twin tanked 850's
