Here's a clue. If you look a where it was MOTd you'll find this :

FECKENHAM GARAGE LIMITED
DROITWICH ROAD
FECKENHAM
REDDITCH
B96 6JE

How did you find this Pete? When I put that number into the https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history it just comes up as not known.

This recent info does make me wonder if you know who is still in the Redditch area though.

I wondered how long it would take for this car to surface. I was the original owner in Canada and built the car to use in vintage racing. The Baldyne story probably started because I put a Baldyne rocker cover on it to race with. This rocker cover was on the Jon Mowatt 8 port engine I purchased. Other than the part about a Canadian bringing the car back to the UK the rest of the story is complete crap.

I thought I had an idea which car it was. Is it an impertinent question to ask who you sold it to? Did he smell of coffee and play a guitar?

No, I sold it to a Canadian friend who moved to England a took both this minis with him. Health problems prevented him from racing it and he sold it to GH.

Just to clarify, I don't think the garage has any real connection with all these cars, they just MOTd them. If it's a private seller there's little could be done through Trading Standards. There's always gonna be people who don't do any homework when they buy a car and obviously the Japanese market was perfect, very trusting buyers on the other side of the globe. There's also plenty of people who have fallen for complete bullshit history on cars over here from various crooks, ex Paddy Makinen, Timo Longman. whoever and it's the buyer's problem if they don't do their homework but how they're getting away with it without being taken to task baffles me as much as anyone else!

Yes I meant this GH person, if it's him that's actually selling the car. Glad I don't have the money to even consider this type of purchase, what a minefield.
