With the kids heading off to college next year I need to move forward on a few projects. I'm starting with the UK Moke and no fan of Spruce green. Of course that is the color it came in new. I'm also not crazy about stock 850's and drum brakes. Seems correct restorations bring top dollar. Kind of feeling the same about the Almond green 997 and 1071 S. Having a 970 crank I have never been able to find rods for three 1071 cranks and a 1275 crank to go with the correct 1071 block and three 1275 blocks I'd love to up power the Moke. I guess I know the answer, keep the Moke numbers matching and sell the S stuff for best return. Steve (CTR)

I would do it standard, mokes are lethal when tuned, more so for the passengers

A good standard 850 with (the later twin leading shoe) drum brakes are actually a GREAT little car to drive :D
With even less weight, a Moke should be fine.

Steve, you've already stated what I was going to suggest. For the money, keep it as original as possible. College ain't cheap.
