A few threads ago somewhere, someone asked about stick-on black and white number plates. As a matter of interest re B&W plates, they cannot be picked up on the ANPR cameras as the camera system has nothing to home in on as it does with the big reflective and bright yellow plate. Alas......., the normal CCTV cameras can pick them up and on the CCTV, B&W's give better definition!

Hmm - one can not help wondering where you guys "pick up" all this info ;)

Our old B&W plates work fine with a speeding camera, and they dont have any reflection on them like the later type does.

How do we pick up this info............... it's simple. An unmarked cop car followed me home in my RCSport and asked me about it. He thought it was a very new looking OLD car but the ANPR thinggy in his cop car couldn't read the B&W plate - which it shouldn't have had - because there was nothing big bright, shiny and reflective to home in on. But it did record perfectly well on his on-board traffic cop camera that they use for taking sweets from errant kids. So yes, the normal speed and traffic light cameras will record - because they're just normal cameras but the ANPR readers won't - because they ain't 'cameras' as such. All clear as mud now?

What did he do about my B&W plates..........? Nothing. He just admired the car, looked at the Police mini he saw in the garage, asked if he could tell the boss I had one, wished me good day and drove off with a cheery toot and a wave
