Do you have Adam insured on a "modern" as well?

Yup, Adam is also insured separately on a Seat Ibiza as his Daily driver.

That's not bad at all ! I have just been trying to get my eldest insured on a bog standard 1275 and the quotes coming back are vomitworthy !

5K TPFT !!!!!! the car isn't even worth that. I tried to get him onto a classic policy for the Mk1 we are restoring (which is his) alas no such joy.

unfortunately he only just passed today.

I REALLY don't want him as a named driver on my policy if at all possible.

I had all the same problems with Adam when he first passed. I am embarrassed to say just how much I paid for him on his Clubman estate in the first year. Once your lad has 12 months under his belt, then Footman James are the people to speak too.

Well I spent yesterday shopping insurance. Alex, age 17 will be 18, 14 Feb. 18 and just started driving by himself to school last week. The company I have been with for 50 years and mailing checks twice a year for four cars and two houses since 1979 is offering to add Alex for $1500. per year. That is after the honor student and drivers Ed discounts. The Honda Civic coupe is his car and it may be cheaper to put him in something larger? I wish now I had gotten the SI model, wonder how much more that would have been? Giving a few other companies a chance to get some of my money. The most I have ever ask for was two wind screen replacements in 50 years. Have had three agents retire in that time. Steve (CTR)

Steve, I feel your pain. What we found was the only helpful discounts happened when you carried as many possible policies with one carrier... which you are already doing. Getting separate insurance for either of my sons was just going to cost more money. To this day they are on my policy. Once they are gainfully employed I will pull that plug.
