Can someone please confirm for me if the Cooper had the same front side window trim as the S, or was it optional with the Cooper ( MkII )
Thanks

All the Cooper range had stainless window trim until the Mk3 which dropped it.

Please can anyone clarify the correct original fixing method for the rear parcel shelf liner panel, also of the original felt sound insulation which was glued to the underside of the shelf panel, not sure how the insulation avoids the two twin tank vent pipes which run across the boot space supported on clips welded to the rear seat panel.

Funny you should ask that because I noticed on the pictures of the "last" MKII cooper in the other thread that that car did not have them? I wonder if they ran out............

In looking at the auction photos I think that "last" MKII Cooper has replacement doors that came from a lesser model. Nice car though.

It also has 6 vent sills, which neither of my late MK2's had and appears to have a MK3 style head lining, although that could be a consequence of the Band-Aid on the roof.

As Pete originally said, no MK3 Cooper S's should have chrome side trim. It was deleted at the end of MK2 production. If a MK3 S does have it, it has been cannibalised from a MK3 Elf or Hornet.

No excuse for the 6 vent sills though.

I was inquiring about MII Cooper door trim.....not concerned with the MkIII trim or lack of.

Sounds like all Coopers had the trim then as standard fitment...? Thanks

Whoops, sorry, I misread.

Yes, all MK1 & MK2 Coopers & Ss had the chrome side trim.
