Engine number 4863. Mine was a December '69, 5544. It's clearly a BIG restoration. To be honest, knowing from experience just how finger trapping, awkward and marginally efficient it was in practice, I left the rad cowling off mine too. If the MCR Cooper and S registrars get on board, the approx chassis number start point for Mk3 colours and therefore the actual totals for the Cooper and S should be known quite quickly

Ho people, I found a morris cooper mk2 998, mid/end 1967, Tartan Red with red interior... It's possible? is not a 848cc? vin is KA2S6/L 1073002A

I think, some very early cars had coloured interiors for a mk2. That said is sounds like it could be mini thou if it's got a remote in it?

Mini thou. Short for thousand cc, a plain old 998cc mini. Came in with the mk2 and definitely came in red on red with a remote gearbox

ok thanks i understood. I found a restoration project, the bodywork is perfect, there is a need to revise the mechanics. But I do not have time. thanks for the informations.
