Bought my Mk2 Cooper in 1986 when I was 18, so 31 years.
Had the 1960 for 20 years.
The pick up has been in family ownership since 1988 (was never on the road until I finished it a few months ago)
The Yellow Peril 'S' has been with me since about 2001.
HOY 500D has only been in my ownership for 3 months but I've known of it/tried to buy it for 25 years - does that count :?

Wished I hadn't sold my first car bought when I was 16, 1972 Mini 1000, UEX 69L. Still on the road apparently but suspect its been reshelled at the minimum or its ID been used to create a tax exempt special

Maybe this Thread title is wrong and should read how long has Grandad owned his mini ?
In my case since 1969 .. paid £175 for my 1961 x 997 Cooper which was a lot of cash on apprentice wages.. today my car is near finished restored and just had its V765 inspection .. i need to stop in todays traffic so .. threw away the subframe reducer & put in a adjustable limiter & 4pots on the front.. plus a Heated Windscreen to support the fug heater & some H4 headlights !!!
In an attempt to keep the purists happy .. i still have stored the removed BMC parts such as the cone gearbox & spring clutch & flywheel in the garage.. but i am looking for a pair of original crackle Sun Visors as they have gone missing?

Thanks for the replies, with some of you I feel I haven't had my cars for long .300 miles in one day I did around 100 and felt knackered. Well done mini owners .isnt it amazing that with everything life throws at us we still somehow keep our Mini's through thick and thin :D

Got my april 2000 Rover Mini Mpi from 2002 and converted it to an Downton Sport40 lookalike.

I have been a flirt as far as car ownership is concerned, certainly compared to a lot of you old stick in the muds :D

850 - 14 years
Sprint - 9 years

Are my 2 oldest, one or two others as well, but no where near as long as these two.

Owned my 1071 about 9 years and still not finished it! An aqua Mk3 was bought last year and I'm currently negotiating on an early 1275 GT (apologies, but it needs saving....)
