Rebirthed by Peter Barker in the 90s.

I remember seeing it at the HRCR (I think) meeting at Hatton World, Warwickshire ( ? ) in the '90s, its first outing I think. Was painted White then. Got a photo somewhere!

Ahhh.....I wonder if there's any history between 64 and 90 ?
I'm curious Kees, out of all the available photographs of crashed / written off / discarded / chopped up ex Works Minis, why choose this one of 977 ARX first ?
Is this the start of an interesting thread ?

Dave

Hi Dave, would be an good idea. Let's start it up now.

Kees

I don't think it would last long Kees. Some people will not like discussing the subject in public, or sharing / viewing photographs.

I went and photographed 407ARX a few years back with a mate (Matt Woods), belonged to a very nice bloke from Durham way. A superb job of recreating it was made and the owner (same guy?) made no bones about what it was.
It was due to appear in a certain Mini mag, and a certain club for Mini Coopers got sand in their knickers about it and it never appeared in print. Disappointing as some of the photos were just superb.

I shall have to ask Matt if he still has any. The club situation was just ludicrous - who the f*** do they think they are?

As stated previously please keep all comments justified and above board. I've just had to delete a discussion about a works car on the Historic Motorsport forum for being misleading. I can feel a red and white ban comin' on! :|

Lovely isn't it? It's no more or less 'real' that 80% of these and keeps the spirit of these cars alive.
