Reading this thread again and Vegards reply, it could well read 'do not' as in squeezed tyre walls do not make for lateral roll. On the other hand he could mean DO NOT fit 165's to 3.5 rims. Apologies to Vegard if I and others read it differently. But anyway, point made!

I meant do not fit 165 tyres on a 3.5" rim. Hell, Minis are better with 145s even on 4.5"s.
The thing is that the pyramid has very flexible walls.

CR65s and Avon CR6ZZ work on 3.5 rims because of their very stiff sidewall, anything like a Yoko though, forget it!

They are CR65s by the way, the works also used them on 3.5s, there are a few pictures of 33 EJB wearing them and that did fairly well.

My comment earlier in the thread wasn't very clear.

Running a 5.20 - 10 crossply (CR65) on a 3.5" rim is fine, I wouldn't run a 165/70-10 (R7) radial though.

Slight thread swerve (sorry Nev) but is a 145/10 eg Aquajet on a 4.75 Rosepetal a safe combination and how does it look ?

Cheers

Nick :)

Its a tiny bit too narrow, but looks & works fine.
