I am a more "senior" lurker but a recently joined one. My 998 Austin Cooper was importer fully assembled in 1966 via Durban port and then railed to Northern Rhodesia (Now Zambia) by "Northern Motor Company" who used to ship them down here in batches. I acquired her in 1999 and did a bare metal stripdown and restored her to 100% original (she belonged to students at some stage and was sprayed shocking pink all over ..including the chrome!
My other wheels is "Banshee", a Unipower inspired 2 seater that I built from a drawing board and a "Cars and Car Conversions" magazine article! Started in 1965 or so and roadworthied ("MOT") in 1980. She still occupied space in my garage. I am retired and live in Johannesburg, SA.
I would be happy to tell more if anyone is interested.
TJ
p.s. Hope the attached pics "attach'!

To be honest and I'm no aerodynamicist (I can't even spell it.....) but the Banshee looks about as aerodynamic as a piano. Am I missing something?

Go to the Maximum Mini web site and look at the car.............beautiful build.
I think it would be wonderful if "Banshee" could supply more photos and build info.

Bit hard on a newby Peter!
Another view of the piano.
Perhaps more pretty when designed nearly 50 years ago.
Cheers

'A bit harsh......' I did have to think about it but I'm a really new newbie myself too Banshee. Never seen one before and couldn't quite decide what to make of it. But some could - and do - say that about old style Mini's don't they? But I have to say that I like the blue one.
