I just wanted to highlight the outstanding service I received from the above company. I had previously used and been very satisfied with the service provided Quickfit SBS, but on this occasion they did not respond to telephone calls, telephone messages or emails, so had to look elsewhere. Googling seatbelt specialists led me to contact a company located in the Midlands but I quickly got the impression that the person I spoke to was full of bullcrap so did not pursue my enquiry. I eventually saw the recommendation from Mark on this site so contacted Sue at FDTS. After a very helpful discussion it was decided that I would try to find a secondhand set of rear seatbelts for my 1982 MG Metro which I would then send to FDTS for checking/ refurbishment. After acquiring two sets which turned out to be for later Metros, the third set I acquired thankfully were the correct ones. However they were filthy and I did not trust the locking mechanisms, especially since my Granddaughter's child seat was going to fitted to the car. By this time a month had gone by since I had first spoken to Sue so I called her last Monday to ask about timescales for refurbishing the seatbelts I had bought from EBay. She remembered my initial enquiry and when I asked how quickly they could be looked at she advised that they would work on them the day they received them and providing no major obstacles were encountered, would return them the same day. So the child seat was quickly tried in the Metro, the seatbelts removed and posed to FDTS last Monday lunchtime from Northern Ireland.
Sue phoned on Tuesday morning to advise they had been received and while they could find a close colour match for the red webbing, the weave pattern was slightly different. She also asked me if I had checked the belts with the child seat and I said I had. I told her to go ahead and carry out whatever was needed to restore the belts back to perfect condition. You can imagine my surprise when a courier handed me a parcel on Thursday afternoon from FDTS as I had not received a phonecall from Sue advising they were ready and to make a payment. There was note inside the box stating " invoice to follow. No invoice was received in the post on Friday,so I telephoned to advise that I had the seatbelts but no invoice had arrived. Sue advised that their priority was to return them to me asap as I needed them restored and returned quickly. She couldn't take payment over the phone and told me wait for the email invoice which she would send me over the weekend. I received the email yesterday and paid by Bank transfer immediately. I noticed from the invoice that considerably more work had been carried out than just rewebbing which makes the fast turnaround even more impressive. Also while there was a charge for postage there was no charge for packaging!
Quite outstanding, brilliant service.
Kind regards
Robert

I'm looking to send the belts from my '63 Mini to them. I've had several emails from Sue (a few on Sunday as they were working) and so far have found them very helpful, they're send me some webbing sample in the post this week.

I can add my recommendation. Took mine in there a few years ago, fantastic place to visit and near Brrooklands too if you want to combine the two. Real old school service and an Aladdin's cave of a workshop! First rate company!

I have also had seat belts done by them, and the service was over and above.
